Company Profile

Industrial Packaging was founded by Fred Lee; Industrial Packaging is now the largest supplier of Fibre Drums & Cardboard Tubes in Ireland.Our purpose built premises in Bray, Co. Wicklow has allowed us to update all our production and storage facilities which in turn has enabled us to supply a very high level of service, product range and quality. Industrial Packaging has extensive experience in the production of cardboard tubes and containers as well as fibre drums for various industries.

We are continuously developing and improving our products in order to provide our customers with the most suitable products for their industries. Industrial Packaging customers operate in a wide range of industries: building; pharmaceutical; specialty chemicals; food; wire products; labels; flexible packaging; poster industry; fabric and textile industries.

History

  • 1947:  Company first established as Dixon & Co. Tubes Ltd. The plant was located in a 9000sq foot premises in central Dublin.
  • 1954:  Renamed as Industrial Packaging.
  • 1976:  Industrial Packaging moved to a 20,000sq.ft premises in Blackrock, Co. Dublin.
  • 1970s: Fred Lee was joined in the business by three of his sons, Norman, Michael, and Peter. Fred retired in the 1980s leaving his three sons to develop the company to its current position.
  • 1981:  began manufacturing fibre drums.
  • 1991:  The company was growing substantially and there was the need for yet another move. The business was relocated to a new plant in Bray, Co. Wicklow, where it is currently located. The original building in Bray consisted of 52,500sq.ft.2001 – The company built a second plant of 37,000sq.ft. Due to increasing space requirements the Fibre drum and Cardboard tube plants are now held in separate premises on the Bray site.
  • 2010:  expanded UN certified product range to include: plastic and steel drums, jerricans, IBC’s, UN boxes, medical waste containers and accessories.
  • 2012:  began manufacturing cable reels.
