Northern Ireland Water has officially launched a comprehensive recruitment initiative, introducing 28 positions for apprentices, higher-level apprentices, and graduates in various disciplines. The initiative, recognized at the 2023 Irish News Workplace & Employment Awards, targets individuals at different career stages, ranging from school-leavers to seasoned professionals contemplating a career shift. Fields such as science, construction engineering, customer operations, and more are open for applicants.

Successful candidates can expect an attractive benefits package from day one, including competitive salaries, structured career progression, and fully funded qualifications. Certain positions even offer subsidized driving lessons, providing a unique advantage for career advancement. NI Water is hosting a virtual open evening on February 5, allowing applicants to connect with current entry-level students and industry experts.

Paula Graham, Head of Learning and Engagement at NI Water, underscored the organization’s pivotal role in Northern Ireland’s health, economy, and environment. She highlighted the importance of attracting and retaining motivated individuals, making NI Water not just a workplace but an exceptional one. The apprenticeship academy, a double award-winner, ensures industry-recognized qualifications, access to in-house training, and a supportive team, fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Nathan Hull, part of NI Water’s Business Analytics Graduate Programme, shared his positive experience, encouraging applicants to seize the opportunities. Despite initial doubts about degree relevance, Nathan emphasized the numerous chances to get involved. The entry-level academy provided him with valuable training, support, competitive remuneration, and benefits. Nathan praised the transparent recruitment process, featuring an information booklet and specific dates, facilitating organization and planning.

Nathan commended the supportive atmosphere at NI Water, where questions are encouraged for effective learning. Stressing that no one is alone in their journey, he highlighted the accessibility of support and a collaborative team spirit. The graduate program and team, he noted, are characterized by friendliness and openness. In conclusion, Nathan encouraged aspiring candidates to take the plunge, emphasizing the clarity and structure of NI Water’s recruitment process and the wealth of opportunities within the organization.
